Mohamad Fawaz is a researcher in International Relations and political science. He holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from the Lebanese American University. He currently serves as a senior researcher at the Recode Research Center, a researcher at Al-Sharq Strategic, and the editorial and research producer of the Al-Sharq Podcast.
His research interests center on the geopolitics of the Middle East, with a particular focus on the Levant, and on energy security in the region, particularly in post-conflict and fragile contexts. In Lebanon, his work focuses on geopolitical dynamics and electoral systems, examining how domestic politics intersect with regional and international trends.
Fawaz writes in both Arabic and English for several research institutions, including the Carnegie Middle East Center and Ru’ya magazine, published by the SETA Foundation.
In addition to his research, he frequently appears in podcasts, interviews, and media outlets, where he provides analysis on Lebanese affairs and broader Middle Eastern geopolitics.
Beyond his research, he co-founded several youth initiatives in Lebanon, most notably UNIFIND, the country’s first digital platform for university guidance.
