Akram El Tabbah is a cybersecurity and business continuity associate with extensive expertise in information security governance, risk management, and compliance. At Bankmed, he oversees strategic operations to safeguard digital assets, manage incident response, ensure compliance with international standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 & 22301, and comply with local standards such as BDL circulars. His work includes cybersecurity awareness, business continuity and disaster recovery planning & testing, and information security assessment & reporting.
Akram holds a Bachelor’s of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from the Lebanese American University (LAU) with a minor in Mathematics, where he graduated with distinction in Fall 2023. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) at the Adnan Kassar School of Business (AKSOB) at the Lebanese American University (LAU).
Akram has a deep-rooted passion for computer science, both in theory and application. He is particularly fascinated by the theory of computation, algorithms and data structures, computer security, computer networks, parallel programming, computer architecture, and artificial intelligence/machine learning. This passion drives his constant pursuit of knowledge, problem-solving, and practical implementation across projects and research.
Equally, Akram holds a profound love for mathematics, which he considers the very language through which the universe was created. He is especially passionate about learning and teaching advanced mathematical topics, including single and multivariable calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, and real & complex analysis. His belief in the elegance and universality of mathematics fuels both his academic pursuits and his approach to structured problem-solving in technology.
Outside of his professional and academic interests, Akram is an educator at heart, with high passion and interest in education and curriculum development. He enjoys teaching, giving public lectures, delivering workshops and keynotes, and mentoring others. He’s also a tech enthusiast and devoted Apple fan, drawn to elegant design and cutting-edge innovation. In his free time, he plays basketball, goes running, watches films, and listens to orchestral music.
